Prem Chopra, a veteran actor known for his villainous portrayals, was taken to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital due to age-related illness and a viral infection on Saturday. He is ninety-two years old. The actor is recuperating nicely, his doctor said on Monday, November 10. Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital told PTI, “He is a known case of cardiac ailment, and he also had a viral infection, and that’s why I’m treating him for the lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is in the ward.”
The doctor added, “He is 92 years old and he has age-related issues because of which his recovery takes a little time. He should be fine in another three-four days and go home.”
Dr. Parker stated that Prem Chopra had been hospitalised to Lilavati Hospital two days prior, under the supervision of his family cardiologist, Dr Nitin Gokhale. He stated that the legendary actor was being treated for both a cardiac issue and a viral infection.
Dr Parker clarified Chopra's current health status, stating that the actor was not in the ICU but rather in a regular hospital room and was not in a critical situation.
Actor Vikas Bhalla, Prem Chopra's son-in-law, previously informed SCREEN that the veteran actor is in good health and that the procedure was only a routine check-up. “He is fine. It is a regular check-up,” said Vikas.
Meanwhile, actor Sharman Joshi, who is married to the senior actor's daughter Prerana Chopra, stated, "All good, thank you, just some tests, back tomorrow."
