After Gulabo Sitabo and Shakuntala Devi biopic, Akshay Kumar-Kiara Advani's Laxmmi Bomb can be the next Bollywood film to go the digital way. As the latest report suggests that the makers have sold the film to an OTT platform for a staggering a cost of Rs 125 crore. A source told PinkVilla, "Laxmmi Bomb has been sold for a staggering Rs 125 crore. But while the number is huge considering digital rates, what one must not forget is that it had the potential of earning over Rs 200 crore at the box office, despite a clash with Salman Khan's Radhe."
Now, the latest news suggest that the film will release on August 15 on that OTT platform. Laxmmi Bomb is the remake of Tamil horror comedy Kanchana and is directed Raghava Lawrence. The film also stars Kiara Advani in a key role. In "Laxmmi Bomb", Akshay plays a character that will be possessed by a ghost of a transgender. Laxmmi Bomb is an official remake of Muni 2: Kanchana. Apart from Akshay and Kiara, the film also stars Sharad Kelkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tusshar Kapoor in key roles.
Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Sooryavanshi, which also features Katrina Kaif, Jaaved Jaaferi, Gulshan Grover, Kumud Mishra, Abhimanyu Singh, Vivan Bhatena and Sikander Khan, with special appearances from Ajay Devgn as Singham and Ranveer Singh as Simmba. The film was supposed to release on March 24 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. It’s been bankrolled under the banners of Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape Of Good Films.
