Chulbul Pandey, the popular cop avatar of Dabangg series, is back. This time, it’s an animated avatar. The Animated Series streamed on May 31, 2021, on OTT platform - Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
Salman Khan couldn’t contain his excitement as he spoke about it to Zee News Digital. He said, “I was instantly excited when I came to know that Chulbul is back and this time differently. Kids and parents will love him alike.” He added that the opportunity to play a character that kids and families can watch together was absolutely fascinating and he was glad to experiment with something like this.
He went on to say, “I want everyone who showed love to Chulbul to continue showing love to him because I am incredibly proud of him and I hope he stays on to continue making a huge difference.”
Salman was a part of Dabangg 3, which released in December 2019. In an interview to BollywoodLife, Salman revealed how he turned a scriptwriter for Dabangg 3. He had said, "It just happened. We were talking that we should make Dabangg 3 and we were wondering what could Dabangg 3 be about and then we though that we should start it from the beginning and everything started falling into place. Just the fact we thought about this started everything and then we explored how he (his character) became Chulbul Pandey. This idea also just came about."
Apart from Salman, the film also starred Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Kiccha Sudeep in key roles.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan spoke about his son’s films. He said that films prior to Dabangg 3 were different. “Bajrangi Bhaijaan was good and totally different. Radhe is not a great film at all, but commercial cinema has a responsibility that every person can get money. From artists to producers, distributors, exhibitors and every stakeholder should get the money.”
He added that the one who buys the cinema must get the money. He also said that due to this, the cycle of cinema making and business goes on. “On this basis, Salman has performed. Stakeholders of this film are in advantage. Otherwise, Radhe is not that great a film," stated Salim.
