Sadak 2 is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar today. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in the leads with an exceptionally talented supporting cast. However, Sadak 2 has been in the news not for their talents, but for the nepotism and lobbying row that has grown and escalated to another level now. Alia Bhatt and her father, Mahesh Bhatt, have been targetted ever since Sushant Singh Rajput's death as earlier, depression due to losing out on offers was reported to be the alleged reason for the alleged suicide of the Chhichhore actor.
Kangana Ranaut had come out and revealed that Sushant had lost out on a lot of opportunities for work in the industry. And then, like a snowball effect, everything spiraled out of control. People are enraged as they have been led to believe that a grave injustice has happened. Alia and her whole family are being trolled time and again. When the trailer of Sadak 2 had released, it became the most disliked trailer ever on Youtube. Pooja Bhatt had even addressed the hate, saying that despite the negativity, it was still the top trend.
Furthermore, the boycott of star kids has been a hot topic, which is why Alia, being a very talented actress, is facing a lot of flak for being Mahesh Bhatt's daughter. Add to that Vishesh Bhatt's statement just after the discovery of Sushant Singh Rajput’s cadaver, where he mentioned that he knew the Kai Po Che actor was heading the Parveen Babi, did not sit well with the audience.
Mahesh Bhatt, in a heartfelt note for his daughter, Pooja, had also said that if the film failed, then it was his responsibility. "Pooja, my Gladiator, hum taxi driver yeh kehtey hai ke safar shuru honey se pehley, hum safar ke malik hotey hai, magar jab safar shuru hotaa hai toh safar hi malik hotaa hai. Today as we begin the last leg of our journey, I feel unshackled. I carry no burden, no weight. No reputation to hold on to. No mission to accomplish. Nothing to prove to anyone. If the film works, it belongs to all of you. If it does not, it's mine. That's the duty and also the privilege of the director . You all gave me so much love and support for which I am very grateful. I love this film because each one of you made this possible. Ahh…now I feel like a free bird. My wilderness is calling me. Saying, 'Mahesh chalein?'" said the veteran filmmaker.
Sadak 2 is a sequel to the 1991 superhit, which was also helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. Apart from Alia, Aditya and Sanjay, the film also stars Gulshan Grover, Jisshu Sengupta, Makarand Deshpande, Priyanka Bose, Mohan Kapoor, Akshay Anand to name a few. But the question for today is, will you watch Sadak 2 or not?
