Currently, OTT is in! With tremendous content being churned out by different OTT platforms, we are witnessing some of the finest content coming our way. Adding to it is Netflix's upcoming anthology based on Satyajit Ray's short stories. As per the latest update, stars like Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Kay Kay Menon, Gajraj Rao, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor and others have come on-board this project which is directed by three well-known filmmakers, viz, Abhishek Chaubey andSrijit Mukherji and Vasan Bala.
The series has been titled Ray and the teaser of the same has just been released. Sharing the teaser, Manoj Bajpayee wrote, "Four gripping stories. Three renowned Directors. Four top notch actors. All inspired by Satyajit Ray. #Ray, premieres June 25th, only on Netflix." Ali Fazal also shared the teaser of the same and wrote, "A nice sweet surprise for you all - #Ray @NetflixIndia." The short stories revolve around, "love, lust, betrayal and truth" and explore the "vulnerabilities and multiple shades of each character," say reports.
Apart from Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Gajraj Rao, the series also includes stars like Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and many more. The four short stories have been titled as Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, Forget Me Not, Bahrupiya, and Spotlight. The anthology will premiere on June 25.
Satyajit Ray is considered to be one of the finest filmmakers in the history of the Indian cinema. He has some of the greatest films like Pather Panchali, Devi, Charulata, Apur Sansar and others registered in his name. Apart from documentaries, Satyajit Ray's short films were also very famous and still remain to inspire many aspiring filmmaker.
