After the Tamil Nadu government sought ban or stop the screening of The Family Man 2 web series on Amazon Prime throughout the country, the OTT platform has issued gag order Samantha Akkineni to refrain speaking about the show before the release. "Amazon Prime Video like most content creators would like to avoid controversies prior to the release of their venture. The gag order to refrain from speak about the show is exactly that, so the audience feeling and sentiments that have been hurt can be assuaged,” read the statement. Earlier, in the letter, the state minister Mano Thangaraj said that the Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha starrer not only hurts the sentiments of the Eelam Tamils but also the feelings of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Friends Reunion: BTS' appearance gets trimmed in China
A nearly 6 minutes of The Friends Reunion special, which was released on May 27, 2021, has been trimmed due to the censorship in China. The trimmed portions include a special appearance of the K-Pop band BTS, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. The reason behind chopping off the BTS portion is for the controversy the band were embroiled in. BTS was slammed by Chinese nationalists for insulting their country by not mentioning the sacrifices of Chinese soldiers in the Korean War during their acceptance speech in October last year.
Sohum Shah misses the madness of Maharani shoot
Sohum Shah uploaded a throwback video on Saturday, from the set of the new OTT series Maharani. He says he misses the madness of the set. In the video, Sohum is seen playing catch with the crew from inside his vanity van. He plays the role of Bihar Chief Minister Bheema Bharti in the show.
Ek Mini Katha writer was conscious not to cross line with humour
Writer Merlapaka Gandhi says he was conscious not to cross the line of sensitivity and decency while penning the new Telugu comedy, Ek Mini Katha. The film starring Santosh Shoban and Kavya Thapar revolves around a common man who has the small penis syndrome. Not just at the writing stage, the entire team of the film, led by director Karthik Ropalu, was aware of consequences if sensitivity of the topic was not kept in check, he adds.
